Regional Tax Specialist – VP Finance (Singapore)

About the role

Nomura is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its regional tax team in Singapore. Reporting to the Regional Head of Tax, the Vice President will provide tax advisory and compliance support across the Wholesale Banking franchise throughout Asia‑Pacific.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax advice on new products and transactions for IWM, Equities, IBD, Credit and other Wholesale lines.
• Respond to tax enquiries from business units and corporate tax functions.
• Compute tax provisions, deferred tax and monitor Fin‑48 positions.
• Review and approve income‑tax and GST/VAT returns.
• Lead tax projects to implement new tax policies and ensure compliance with evolving rules.
• Collaborate with Financial Control, Product Control, Legal, Compliance and Operations on tax analyses.
• Support transfer‑pricing calculations, review local TP files and maintain policy documentation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of tax experience in an international accounting firm or financial institution.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑influence abilities.
• Proven analytical and technical tax expertise.
• Ability to challenge the status quo while managing tax risk within the firm’s appetite.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working both autonomously and as part of a regional/global team.
