Research Assistant – Object Detection

About the role

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join a university‑level research centre at NTU, collaborating with industry on data‑efficient object detection projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in lab work and support data‑efficient object detection using few‑shot learning, transfer learning, image synthesis and related techniques.
• Assist in preparing technical documentation, research reports and publications required by funding bodies or for academic dissemination.
• Undertake any other duties relevant to the research programme.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and computer vision principles.
• Familiarity with Python and at least one deep‑learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Keras.
• Strong interest in research, willingness to learn new concepts and explore innovative ideas.
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Motivation, initiative and passion for solving technical challenges.
