Research Assistant – Perovskite Photovoltaics

About the role

The School of Materials Science and Engineering at NTU seeks a Research Assistant to advance perovskite photovoltaic devices for solar energy harvesting. You will work in the Andrei laboratory, contributing to the design, fabrication, and characterization of layered metal‑halide perovskite architectures using both solution‑ and vacuum‑based techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design and fabricate perovskite solar cell structures using solution processing and vacuum deposition.
• Perform material characterization (SEM, EDX, XRD, AFM, UV‑vis, PL) on photoelectrodes and catalysts.
• Develop and maintain a bespoke photocatalytic characterization setup and analysis protocols.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, manage supplies, and liaise with vendors.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on renewable‑energy projects.
• Mentor junior group members and contribute to research reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with solution‑based device fabrication.
• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and data analysis for research reporting.
