Research Assistant / Project Officer – Psychosocial Support for Caregivers

About the role

The Research Assistant/Project Officer will join the Action Research for Community Health (ARCH) lab to support a novel culinary programme aimed at improving psychosocial wellbeing of familial caregivers of cancer patients. Working closely with clinicians, nutritionists and community partners, the role involves coordinating the intervention study and contributing to data‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate programme logistics, schedule coaching sessions and act as liaison with institutional and external collaborators.
• Facilitate recruitment and enrollment of eligible caregivers and provide ongoing participant support.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare progress reports and presentations for stakeholders and funders.
• Implement data collection, manage and analyse quantitative and qualitative data, and conduct data transcription.
• Assist in drafting research reports, literature reviews and co‑authoring journal articles with principal investigators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, social work, health science or a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.
• Interest in quantitative, qualitative and mixed‑methods research.
• One‑year fixed‑term contract with possible six‑month extension.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with NVivo for qualitative analysis.
• Experience with SPSS for statistical analysis.
• Familiarity with Qualtrics for survey design and data collection.
