About the role
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Nair group, led by Assistant Professor Aditya Nair. The role focuses on large‑scale neural activity data collection in mice to uncover neural computations underlying emotional states and mental health disorders.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and process large‑scale neural activity data from murine models.
- Design and execute an independent research project within the group.
- Assist with laboratory management, including purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and grant administration.
- Prepare and contribute to grant applications, conference presentations, and manuscript drafts for top neuroscience journals.
- Participate in weekly lab meetings and journal clubs, presenting data or literature as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, neuroscience, computational biology, psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in systems neuroscience and AI‑driven data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced research environment.
Required skills
- Experience with stereotaxic surgery.
- Proficiency in neural recording experiments using murine models.
- Capability to collect and manage large‑scale neural activity datasets.
