Research Assistant/Associate – Advanced Human Respiratory Cell Culture

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU is seeking a Research Assistant or Research Associate to support advanced human respiratory cell culture work. The role focuses on developing and maintaining airway epithelial models for a national biorepository aimed at enhancing pandemic preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, characterize, and maintain a diverse collection of human respiratory cell cultures.
• Support the creation of a national biorepository for rapid research and diagnostic use during emerging infectious disease outbreaks.
• Perform routine cell culture procedures, including passage, cryopreservation, and quality control.
• Document experimental protocols and data in accordance with lab standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate cell models into translational respiratory research projects.

Required profile

• Degree in biomedical science, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Experience with human cell culture, preferably airway epithelial cells.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Good organizational and record‑keeping skills.
