About the role
We are seeking a Research Associate to join the Aerial Robotics team at the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, NTU, Singapore. The role focuses on designing, building and controlling an avian‑inspired robot capable of agile flight in urban environments, integrating computational modelling, AI‑driven control and innovative mechanical design.
Key responsibilities
- Design and fabricate robust prototypes of the avian‑inspired aerial robot.
- Develop and implement AI‑based models and algorithms for flight dynamics and autonomous control.
- Conduct experiments, collect data and analyse performance of flight tests.
- Support the Principal Investigator and team lead with project management, progress reporting and documentation.
Required profile
- MSc or MEng in Robotics, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in R&D of aerial or autonomous robotic systems.
- Strong communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
- Record of research publications is a plus.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- C++ programming.
- MATLAB.
- Simulink.
