Research Associate – Computational Electromagnetism & Nanophotonics

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a motivated Research Associate to advance computational studies in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) electrodynamics, electron‑photon, and electron‑matter interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run high‑performance simulations of EUV electrodynamics using C++ and Python.
• Create new software tools for modeling unprecedented electromagnetic phenomena.
• Collaborate with senior researchers to formulate theories derived from Maxwell’s equations and quantum electrodynamics.
• Lead manuscript preparation and publish results in high‑impact journals.
• Present findings at top‑tier international conferences.
• Assist the Principal Investigator with grant writing and laboratory logistics.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in physics, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong background in electrodynamics simulation techniques.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
• Solid foundation in theoretical and mathematical physics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
