Research Associate – Deepfake Detection

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Associate to lead a project on real‑world deepfake detection and image forgery localization. You will work within the ROSE Lab, collaborating with faculty, PhD students and international visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research into deepfake detection, image forgery detection, localization and multimedia forensics.
• Create or adapt large‑scale datasets for algorithm training and evaluation.
• Participate in the execution of funded research projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in drafting proposals for new research grants in the above areas.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Research experience in computer vision, image processing, multimedia forensics, or deepfake detection.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to lead a small team of researchers or assistants.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PyTorch and OpenCV.
• Programming in Python and C/C++.
• Experience with Linux (Ubuntu) environments.
• Knowledge of GPU computing, CUDA programming and model optimization.
