Research Associate – Leadership Development in Education

About the role

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning (CRADLE) at Nanyang Technological University is looking for a motivated Research Associate to support a project on vertical leadership development for school leaders. This role involves close collaboration with schools, data collection, and analysis under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the leadership development research project.
• Coordinate with school stakeholders and project collaborators.
• Conduct literature reviews and draft policy reports for stakeholders.
• Prepare and update ethics documentation for the Institutional Review Board.
• Recruit participants and collect data through interviews, field observations, and document analysis across three time‑points.
• Perform qualitative data analysis and manage analysis pipelines under supervision.
• Handle research‑related administrative tasks, including procurement of materials and equipment.
• Assist the Principal Investigator with any additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education or a related field from a recognized university.
• Excellent written and spoken English for literature reviews and reporting.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to school sites for data collection.
• Prior experience with qualitative research methods; teaching experience in MOE schools is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using NVivo software for qualitative analysis.
