Research Engineer II – Lab Operations

About the role

The NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory seeks a Research Engineer II to lead laboratory operations, ensure safety, and support cutting‑edge nanotechnology and thin‑film research. You will work closely with the Corp Lab director, principal investigators, and research teams to deliver high‑quality results on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multiple research projects, monitoring timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Oversee wet‑lab and facility operations, maintaining compliance with university health and safety regulations.
• Manage equipment scheduling, delivery, installation, and routine maintenance.
• Control inventory, track budgets, and liaise with research programs and university departments.
• Train and supervise laboratory staff, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment.
• Stay current on technological advances and implement appropriate quality controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience managing a research laboratory or similar facilities.
• Strong knowledge of nanotechnologies and thin‑film processes.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
