Research Engineer – Low Pressure Membrane Systems

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology seeks a Research Engineer to join an industry‑innovation project developing a demonstration‑scale low pressure membrane system in partnership with Atera Water Pte Ltd.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Principal Investigator with administration, planning, budgeting and daily operations of the research project.
• Design, plan and set up both demonstration‑scale and lab‑scale low pressure membrane plants at designated sites.
• Conduct experiments, log data, perform analysis and correlate CFD results with experimental findings.
• Co‑supervise final‑year or capstone projects and support student helpers.
• Prepare fortnightly progress reports, draft technical reports, conference papers and journal articles.
• Support procurement and maintenance of software/hardware related to the project.

Required profile

• Recognised B.Eng or M.Eng degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Strong foundation in fluid dynamics and experience with experimental design and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships.

Required skills

• Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.
• Internet of Things (IoT) setup and controller design (PLC or embedded computing).
• Handling and analysing large data sets.
