Research Engineer (Psychology / Neuropsychology / Cognitive Neuroscience)

About the role

The Centre for Lifelong Learning and Individualised Cognition (CLIC), a research collaboration between the University of Cambridge and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) funded by the National Research Foundation Singapore, is seeking a full-time Research Engineer. The position supports research on cognitive flexibility and learning, and training-related brain changes among adults and adolescents, with possible involvement in human neuroimaging, language, infant cognition/learning and pedagogy. The post is open to reappointment.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit approximately young adults aged 18 to 30 from vocational institutions (e.g. ITE, polytechnics and universities) and from the general public through community sampling (community centres, clinics, social media).
• Organise the collection of datasets.
• Oversee and standardise protocols for data coding, data entry and data analysis.
• Assist with preparing conference presentations and journal papers.
• Carry out other administrative duties.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Psychology, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in adult cognitive testing and neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG).
• Prior experience recruiting participants.
• Familiarity with data management protocols and ethical regulatory frameworks in Singapore.
• Experience in research report writing and general research administration.

Required skills

• Good statistical knowledge, including R and SPSS.
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Strong communication, organisation and time-management skills.
