Research Engineer (Robotics)

About the role

The Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab, an advanced R&D facility specialising in automotive technology, is looking for a Research Engineer to support research on hardware design, assembly and control of versatile end effectors for manufacturing lines. The position is open to entry-level candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external research partners to design, develop and automate end effectors for manufacturing systems
• Carry out technical investigations into design concepts and manipulation strategies for end effector applications
• Support prototype development, hardware assembly and system integration
• Plan and run experimental tests on end effectors using real-world components
• Analyse test results and prepare technical reports and presentations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in a relevant field
• Open to entry-level candidates
• Prior experience in robotics, automation or hands-on hardware/firmware development is an advantage
