Research Fellow – Advanced Motion Planning for Robotics

About the role

NTU’s Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab is seeking a Research Fellow to drive cutting‑edge research in motion planning for robotic arms used in automotive manufacturing. You will work at the intersection of AI, robotics, and real‑world production environments, contributing to innovative solutions that shape the future of automobile manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate sampling‑based and reinforcement learning‑based motion planning algorithms for multiple robotic arms.
• Integrate software with simulation tools and actual manufacturing systems.
• Publish research findings in international robotics and AI conferences and journals.
• Collaborate closely with NTU, A*STAR, and HMGICS project teams.
• Review related literature and implement novel solutions to meet project goals.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and algorithmic skills with a proven track record in rapid R&D environments.
• Demonstrated experience in path planning for robotic arms, reinforcement learning, and AI.
• Good publication record in relevant venues.
