Research Fellow – AI & Computer Vision

About the role

The College of Computing and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University seeks a motivated Research Fellow to advance state‑of‑the‑art methods in image/video watermarking and video processing. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high‑impact publications and real‑world systems for industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and identify gaps in existing models.
• Design, develop, and evaluate novel deep‑learning approaches, including foundation and diffusion models.
• Train and benchmark models against recent baselines.
• Prepare research papers, technical reports, and system prototypes for commercial partners.
• Supervise junior researchers and master’s students.
• Report project progress and collaborate across disciplines.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of research experience, including a strong publication record at top AI conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS).
• Demonstrated ability to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and produce innovative results.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Deep learning, especially foundation models and diffusion models.
• AI editing methods and generative model properties for image/video watermarking.
• Open object detection, video summarization, and key‑frame extraction techniques.
• Strong software implementation capabilities.
