Research Fellow – Algorithms for Massive Data

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University is seeking a Research Fellow to join Yi Li's laboratory. The role focuses on developing fundamental algorithms for massive data sets, including dimension‑reduction, streaming, and online techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art algorithms for large‑scale data processing.
• Conduct theoretical analysis and empirical evaluation of algorithmic performance.
• Write and co‑author research papers for top conferences and journals.
• Present findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in theoretical computer science, mathematics, or a closely related field (candidates who will complete the degree before the start date are eligible).
• Strong background in probability theory applied to theoretical computer science.
• Demonstrated research experience with a record of publications, preferably in leading venues.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
