Research Fellow – Bioelectronics, Organic Semiconductors & Anti‑Infective Agents

About the role

The Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance its interdisciplinary programme on bioelectronics, organic semiconductors and anti‑infective agents. The role involves designing and synthesising novel conjugated oligoelectrolyte materials for antimicrobial, bio‑imaging and drug‑delivery applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and synthesize conjugated oligoelectrolyte materials targeting antimicrobial, bio‑imaging and drug‑delivery uses.
• Analyse experimental data, prepare scientific communications, draft manuscripts and contribute to grant applications.
• Support project operations, including supervision of junior staff and overall project management.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering with a minimum of 2 years post‑doctoral research experience.
• Strong background in chemical synthesis and purification of small molecules and polymers.
• Understanding of stable open‑shell organic radicals and their functionalisation for diverse applications.
• Experience designing near‑infrared absorbing molecules for organic photovoltaics, photodetectors, thermoelectric and photothermal devices.
