About the role
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks two Research Fellows to advance a project on the collective motion of bacteria and the mechanics of bacterial colonies and biofilms. One fellow will focus on experimental work, while the other will develop theory and numerical simulations.
Key responsibilities
- Design and operate experimental systems for studying bacterial collective behavior.
- Collect, process, and analyse experimental data.
- Implement numerical simulations to model bacterial dynamics.
- Develop theoretical models that explain experimental and simulation results.
- Assist in organising the laboratory and training undergraduate students.
Required profile
- PhD (or equivalent) in biophysics, soft‑matter physics, mechanical or chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Entry‑level candidates are welcome.
