Research Fellow – Carbon Pricing

About the role

The Centre for Sustainable Finance Innovation at Nanyang Business School seeks a Research Fellow to investigate how carbon pricing and climate policies influence firms' sourcing decisions and global supply‑chain structures. The role combines empirical research, large‑scale data integration, and econometric modelling to produce high‑quality academic outputs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct empirical studies on the impact of carbon pricing on firm performance, supplier relationships, and supply‑chain restructuring.
• Build and manage extensive datasets that merge firm‑level, supply‑chain, policy, climate, and financial information from diverse sources.
• Develop econometric models, run robustness tests, and create visualisations for research papers and conference presentations.
• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator, project team, and international partners to advance the research agenda.

Required profile

• PhD in finance, economics, accounting, business, statistics, data science, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong background in empirical research methods and experience handling large‑scale firm‑level datasets.
• Proven ability to produce peer‑reviewed journal articles in finance, economics, or related fields.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for data management and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in Stata for econometric modelling.
