Research Fellow – Computational Nanomaterials

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Fellow to advance theory and simulation of low‑dimensional nanomaterials, focusing on 2D systems such as ferroelectrics, multiferroics, topological materials, and moiré superlattices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative computational research on 2D materials.
• Develop and apply advanced simulation techniques (DFT, tight‑binding, molecular dynamics) to explore physical properties.
• Analyze results, prepare manuscripts and research reports.
• Present findings at group meetings, international conferences, and workshops.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research projects.
• Collaborate with experimental groups and external partners to validate outcomes.

Required profile

• PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science or a related discipline.
• Experience in quantum chemistry, condensed‑matter theory, and theoretical materials science.
• Familiarity with DFT calculations and knowledge of 2D material phenomena.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
