About the role
The Energy Research Institute at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow to lead a joint project with Imperial College Global Singapore. The focus is on overcoming technical challenges of using ammonia as a fuel in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) to achieve high performance and long‑term durability.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on SOFC technologies and ammonia feedstock preparation methods.
- Synthesize, fabricate, and test SOFC prototypes using ammonia.
- Perform material characterization of cell components.
- Investigate fundamental mechanisms and reaction pathways within the cells.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and conference papers.
- Support additional tasks as directed by the principal investigator.
Required profile
- PhD in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong publication record in solid oxide fuel cell research.
- Experience in fabricating SOFC stacks is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet research milestones.
- Proficiency in English for academic communication.
