Research Fellow – Electrolyte & Materials Interfaces for Batteries

About the role

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a highly motivated Research Fellow to lead independent investigations on electrolyte and material interfaces for next‑generation batteries. The successful candidate will work in the EI2 Lab, contributing to the development of solid‑state and high‑energy Li/Na batteries, sensors, switches, and electrochemical transistors.

Key responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and characterize advanced materials for solid‑state and high‑energy batteries.
• Perform electrochemical, mechanical, and advanced materials characterizations.
• Collaborate with internal and external academic and industrial partners on joint projects.
• Prepare manuscripts for high‑impact journals and present findings at international conferences.
• Assist in grant proposal writing and new project development.
• Mentor and supervise PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Required profile

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong publication record in electrochemical energy storage or related areas.
• Ability to work independently and lead interdisciplinary research.
