Research Fellow – Human‑IoT Communication for Senior Health

About the role

The Privacy and Emotion Lab at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information seeks a Research Fellow to advance a project designing human‑IoT communication that motivates seniors (aged 60+) to engage in self‑directed health prevention, enhancing mental and physical well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews and contribute to research papers.
• Lead the conceptualisation and planning of research projects.
• Design and execute data‑gathering activities, including focus‑group discussions and surveys.
• Analyse interview and survey data using appropriate statistical methods.
• Contribute actively to the writing of academic manuscripts and research reports.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with the research programme.

Required profile

• PhD in Communication Studies, Psychology, or a related social‑science field.
• Experience conducting focus‑group interviews and surveys.
• Ability to run standard statistical tests (e.g., regression, SEM) using SPSS or Mplus.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques such as moderation, mediation, and hierarchical regression (preferred).
• Strong project‑management and academic‑writing skills.
• Evidence of scholarly publications and conference presentations (preferred).
• At least 1 year of research experience is advantageous, but entry‑level candidates are welcome.
