Research Fellow – Quantum Information Science

About the role

The Singapore‑based SPMS group at NTU seeks a Research Fellow to advance quantum information science. The successful candidate will lead independent investigations into quantum resources and correlations, linking theory to quantum communication protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in quantum information theory, quantum resource theories, and quantum correlations (including temporal and operational aspects).
• Develop theoretical frameworks that connect quantum resources to quantum communication and related protocols.
• Publish findings in leading peer‑reviewed journals.
• Contribute to grant deliverables and help identify new funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners.
• Supervise graduate students and mentor junior researchers where applicable.
• Participate in seminars, workshops, and academic service activities within the department.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong research track record in quantum information theory or quantum foundations.
• Demonstrated expertise in quantum correlations, coherence, entanglement, or resource theories.
• Excellent analytical abilities and a solid publication record.
• Experience with quasiprobability methods or operational approaches to quantumness is advantageous.

Required skills

• Quantum information theory
• Quantum resource theories
• Quantum correlations (temporal and operational)
• Quasiprobability methods
• Operational approaches to quantumness
