Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow (Low-Temperature Transport) & Project Officer

About the role

The Weber group at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, has three positions open. Two are Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow roles leading experimental work on low-temperature transport measurement, 2D and topological materials, heterostructures and devices, in an existing dilution refrigerator laboratory. The third is a Project Officer position supporting laboratory management and technical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Research Fellow: lead experimental work on low-temperature electronic measurement, help procure equipment and consumables, manage, maintain and service laboratory equipment, co-supervise research students and write high-tier research publications.
• Project Officer: operate and maintain cryogenic and vacuum lab equipment, oversee purchases, stockkeeping and maintenance schedules, and manage day-to-day operations and scientific meetings.

Required profile

• PhD in experimental condensed matter physics; at least 5 years of experience required for Senior Research Fellow.
• Demonstrated track record of high-impact research and publications, and excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
• For Project Officer: bachelor's degree in physics, materials science or electrical engineering, highly organized and proactive.

Required skills

• Demonstrated track record in low-temperature electronic measurement (T = 4.2 K and below), including cryogenics handling.
• Experience with dilution refrigerators strongly preferred; hands-on servicing of BlueFors systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
