Resident Architect

About the role

The Resident Architect acts as the Consultant’s on‑site representative, overseeing construction activities to ensure they meet design intent, contractual specifications and regulatory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with the project team to maintain quality, schedule and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor contractors’ work, witnessing inspections, testing and commissioning sessions.
• Ensure all architectural works align with design intent, specifications and authority requirements.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals and material samples, coordinating with civil, structural and services models.
• Raise variation orders or in‑principle approvals promptly when changes occur.
• Provide daily updates and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager, including checklists and issue logs.
• Maintain organized site records, correspondence, documents and drawings for easy retrieval.
• Prepare and update lists of outstanding or non‑compliant items for discussion in regular site meetings.
• Coordinate daily with the Resident Engineer and other site team members.
• Attend coordination meetings, take minutes and distribute weekly reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of local architectural experience.
• Strong knowledge of architectural practice, installation and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective team player with good time‑management and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Competence with Microsoft Office suite.
