Resident Physician – Internal Medicine

About the role

The Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at Woodlands Hospital provides comprehensive, patient‑centred care across a range of medical subspecialties. Working in a multidisciplinary team, you will manage in‑patients on the ward and may also see patients in ambulatory settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver holistic inpatient care across internal medicine subspecialties under senior supervision.
• Perform initial assessments, routine reviews, documentation, and communication with patients, families, and the care team.
• Identify critically ill patients, initiate early resuscitation, and promptly escalate to senior doctors.
• Carry out common ward‑based and bedside procedures under supervision, including consent taking.
• Supervise and assist house officers (PGY1) and support senior clinicians in outpatient clinics.
• Meet clinical and service quality standards set by the hospital.
• Participate in CME activities such as M&M meetings, journal clubs, and conferences.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) with registration to practice in Singapore.
• Current eligibility for residency training in Internal Medicine.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of common medical conditions.
• Basic bedside procedural skills under supervision.
• Effective documentation and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
