Resident Technical Officer – Civil & Structural

About the role

The Resident Technical Officer (C&S) will act as the on‑site supervisor, ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in strict compliance with contract specifications, drawings and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise timely execution of works, maintaining quality control and adherence to contract documents.
• Review drawings and specifications, flag discrepancies and report to the Officer‑in‑Charge.
• Inspect materials, samples and workmanship; initiate corrective actions for non‑conformities.
• Prepare defect lists, monitor rectification progress and verify satisfactory closure.
• Ensure statutory compliance for structural and critical works.
• Participate in site, progress, variation, QA/QC and coordination meetings and record minutes.
• Assist main contractors with queries and coordinate activities across multiple trades.
• Support handover processes and maintain up‑to‑date project records.
• Collaborate with the safety team to uphold the highest safety standards on site.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil or Structural engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised polytechnic.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a Resident Technical Officer, including at least 2 years supervising road, building or viaduct projects.
• Ability to work shift patterns, including night shifts.
• Valid 2026 RTO certification accredited by IES.
