Retention & Engagement Manager – ANZ (9‑month contract)

About the role

Warner Bros. Discovery is expanding HBO Max across Australia and New Zealand and needs a senior marketer to own the retention and engagement strategy. In this 9‑month contract you will design data‑driven programs that keep subscribers watching, reduce churn and increase lifetime value.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the ANZ retention and engagement roadmap and calendar.
• Design and launch highly personalized, cross‑channel campaigns (email, push, in‑app) that drive sustained viewing.
• Build lifecycle programs covering onboarding, habit formation, churn prevention, win‑back and upsell.
• Partner with Content teams to amplify major launches and tentpole moments.
• Use data and segmentation to deliver the right message at the right time.
• Develop and run A/B and multivariate tests to optimise performance.
• Manage campaigns end‑to‑end, from briefing through analysis and insights.
• Monitor and report key metrics such as engagement, retention, churn and conversion.
• Serve as the regional subject‑matter expert for retention and engagement.
• Ensure operational excellence through QA, deliverability and best‑practice optimisation.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on complex, cross‑market initiatives.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of experience in CRM, lifecycle or retention marketing, preferably in subscription or digital businesses.
• Hands‑on expertise with marketing automation platforms (Braze strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing, behavioural segmentation and personalization strategies.
• Proven ability to use data to inform decisions and improve campaign performance.
• Experience running experimentation programmes and interpreting results.
• Familiarity with analytics tools such as Looker and comfort working with large data sets.
