Semiconductor Specialist, AI Domain Expert

About the role

Patsnap is looking for an experienced Semiconductor Reverse Engineering Specialist to act as the core domain anchor for its Eureka Materials AI Agent product. The role works closely with Product Managers and AI Engineers to turn deep semiconductor expertise into structured knowledge systems, standardized analytical workflows and domain-specific AI capabilities. It is an individual contributor role: about 70% of the time is spent building domain knowledge systems and AI Skills, and 30% on reverse engineering analysis and technical validation. No team management or hands-on lab equipment operation (TEM/SEM/EDA) is required. The position is in-office in the Singapore office.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the semiconductor domain expert for the Eureka Materials Agent, ensuring technical accuracy for chip, device and material reverse engineering scenarios.
• Define real-world use cases, standardized analytical workflows and industry requirements with product teams.
• Translate reverse engineering expertise into structured domain logic, prompts, technical frameworks and evaluation benchmarks (decapsulation protocols, material identification rules, competitor technology mapping).
• Build and iterate domain knowledge bases, codifying professional judgment and analysis protocols into reusable digital assets.
• Design and package semiconductor-specific AI Skills, setting standards for intelligent retrieval, technical reasoning and automated report generation.
• Validate AI-generated outputs and take part in model evaluation and bad-case analysis to improve inference accuracy.
• Track competitor roadmaps and industry evolution and turn technical intelligence into guidance for product iteration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Microelectronics, Semiconductor Science, Materials Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field, with knowledge of device physics, process technology or failure analysis.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor competitive analysis, process reverse engineering, device teardown or industrial technology intelligence.
• Strong ability to turn complex technical experience into structured frameworks, reusable rules and standardized criteria.
• Preferred: background in industry intelligence firms (e.g. TechInsights, Yole Group, Lumenci, Sagacious IP) or semiconductor manufacturer technical analysis / FA teams.
• Preferred: hands-on experience in knowledge base construction, workflow mapping and rule codification, and familiarity with semiconductor raw material databases, patent analytics tools or technical data platforms.

No programming, software engineering or LLM training experience is required; algorithms and engineering are handled by the AI team. The role is in-office in Singapore.
