Senior Academic Researcher – Remote AI Evaluation

About the role

This remote position focuses on independent research aimed at evaluating and improving artificial intelligence systems. You will design rigorous experiments, uncover model weaknesses, and propose concrete refinements to enhance reliability and safety across diverse AI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute controlled experiments to test AI model behavior under varied conditions and edge cases.
• Document results in structured reports with quantitative data, qualitative observations, and actionable recommendations.
• Identify recurring failure patterns or biases and suggest targeted improvements to model architecture or training data.
• Collaborate with external contributors and academic peers to validate hypotheses and refine methodologies.
• Stay current with AI research trends, benchmark datasets, and evaluation frameworks.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience designing and conducting empirical AI studies with a focus on reproducibility.
• Strong background in statistical analysis, experimental design, and hypothesis testing.
• Excellent written communication and a record of publishing in peer‑reviewed venues.
