Senior Air Operations Agent – Time Critical (16:00‑00:00)

About the role

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Senior Air Operations Agent for its Time Critical team. Working the 16:00‑00:00 shift, you will manage documentation, routing, rate negotiation and customer service for time‑sensitive air and ground shipments across the U.S. and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review airline bills, motor carrier bills of lading, export/import declarations, NAFTA/USMCA forms and other domestic paperwork while maintaining accurate records for compliance.
• Select the optimal transport mode (ground, air, courier) for U.S. and cross‑border Canadian shipments, balancing cost and service level.
• Negotiate competitive rates and service agreements with carriers, freight forwarders and couriers; monitor performance and recommend cost‑saving partnerships.
• Liaise daily with customs brokers to provide import documentation, track entries and expedite clearance, resolving brokerage issues promptly.
• Partner with domestic sales to gather weight/dimension data, prepare accurate freight quotes and recommend economical carriers.
• Audit domestic freight invoices for accuracy, identify discrepancies and work with carriers to adjust charges.
• Serve as primary point of contact for client inquiries, investigate service failures, propose corrective actions and ensure client satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Undertake special projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in freight operations, logistics or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong listening and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Client‑focused, proactive attitude and a record of delivering service excellence.
• Quick learner with strong memory recall of operational data, rates and carrier guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TMS/ERP systems.
• Advanced use of the Microsoft Office suite.
