Senior Backend Engineer - AI Inspection Solutions

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer in Singapore to support its AI-powered digital inspection solutions. You will design, build and maintain scalable, reliable and secure backend systems and APIs that power a jet engine inspection platform across the global aftermarket network. The role works closely with Engineering, Product and AI teams, and is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Build state-of-the-art AI products that solve real-world customer problems.
• Implement, enhance and maintain core backend features using Python, FastAPI and MongoDB on Azure.
• Work in an international, high-ownership team with Agile, iterative, data-driven development.
• Collaborate with software, Product and AI teams to ship AI-assisted engine inspection solutions for aviation professionals.
• Optimize backend performance and API responsiveness for reliability and scale.
• Help shape the tech stack and improve backend systems.
• Contribute to QA guidelines, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and developer tooling.
• Apply software development best practices, including security and coding standards, and proactively resolve performance bottlenecks and architectural risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in Python backend development for SaaS platforms, with hands-on experience with FastAPI, MongoDB and Azure Cloud.
• Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity and commitment to continuous learning.
• Track record of clean, maintainable, secure code and thoughtful architecture.
• Familiarity with an Agile/Kanban environment and an agile mindset.
