Senior Data Scientist (Consumer Experience)

About the role

Grab's Consumer Experience team aims to deliver a great user experience across its app, working on tasks ranging from ranking and recommendations to agentic LLM chatbots and content generation. This Senior Data Scientist role focuses on improving a communications targeting system through relevance ranking, translation models and agentic marketing content generation. It reports to the Senior Data Science Manager and is based at the Grab One North Singapore office.

Key responsibilities

• Enhance communication targeting systems by developing relevance ranking algorithms, translation models and agentic marketing content generators.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to build a deep behavioural understanding of users and inform personalization strategies.
• Collaborate with product, marketing and engineering teams to design, implement and deploy ML and LLM models end to end.
• Build and test robust models, develop data pipelines and set up observability and evaluation frameworks for production systems.
• Use Generative AI and AI coding assistants to speed up model development, automate data wrangling and streamline evaluation workflows.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in data science or machine learning.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics or a related technical discipline.
• Experience managing the end-to-end ML lifecycle, including feature selection, hyperparameter optimization and model validation.
• Experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity and workflows.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, R or Java, with data pipeline development and ETL experience.
• Predictive modelling (logistic regression, neural networks, decision trees, heuristic models).
• ML/DL frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, Pandas, XGBoost, TensorFlow or PyTorch.
