Senior Director, Module Engineering

About the role

GlobalFoundries, a full-service semiconductor foundry, is looking for a Senior Director of Module Engineering to lead the module engineering organization in one of its Singapore fabs. The role drives operational excellence, technology development and cross-functional collaboration, and acts as a strategic link between the site and global counterparts on technology roadmaps and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the engineering modules across the designated fab, including process and equipment engineering, and develop engineering strategies aligned with site and global objectives.
• Represent the engineering function in local leadership forums and contribute to site-wide decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement in yield, cycle time, cost and equipment efficiency, and lead technology transfer and ramp-up with global R&D and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure robust process control and reliability across all technology nodes.
• Liaise with global engineering, R&D and customer teams, and participate in global forums to influence technology direction and share best practices.
• Build and develop the engineering team through hiring, mentoring and succession planning, and champion diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Comply with environmental, health, safety and security requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive technical and managerial experience in the semiconductor industry, across multiple process modules.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams in a high-volume foundry or advanced semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable in a matrixed, multicultural environment and able to lead through influence.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of semiconductor process technologies such as CMOS, FinFET, RF and analog/mixed-signal.
• Strong knowledge of equipment engineering, yield improvement methodologies and statistical process control.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects across geographies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with global teams and customers.
