Job description

About the role

This position sits in the team responsible for the governance and integration of departmental activities, establishing internal systems such as an integrated management system, international benchmarking and cost-modelling frameworks. The role focuses on monitoring progress, managing risk and streamlining processes so that institutional outputs meet rigorous technical and regulatory benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

  • Project Management Office (PMO) development: support the PMO's governance, design development processes and decision-making protocols, and consolidate branch schedules into an integrated master schedule with roadmaps, milestones and critical paths.
  • Risk management: maintain programme-level risk registers, map dependencies and run critical path analysis to support proactive risk mitigation.
  • Capability development: build documentation, governance procedures and knowledge management systems, and support lessons learned and competency development.
  • Governance framework: contribute to an internal integrated management system aligned with international standards, and define decision-making protocols and oversight mechanisms for technical review and validation.
  • Economic modelling: analyse and model the financial governance of large-scale infrastructure, researching international cost-control frameworks and long-term funding structures.
  • Programme alignment: coordinate technical branches with organisational objectives, budgets and timelines.
  • Standards benchmarking: study international regulatory landscapes, identify gaps in local frameworks, engage with research bodies on emerging energy standards and build regulatory licensing roadmaps.

Required profile

  • Preferred education in Systems Engineering or Project Management; other relevant qualifications are welcome.
  • Experience setting up governance or project management systems for large-scale infrastructure, and financial planning and analysis for major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with government agencies to develop regulatory frameworks or licensing roadmaps is preferred.
  • Openness to being stationed overseas for extended periods (3 months to 2 years) for training and attachments.

Required skills

  • Programme and project management and stakeholder management.
  • Technical writing for regulatory submissions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to synthesise technical and policy considerations.
