Senior Facility Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior Facility Mechanical Engineer for its Fab 10A site. You will manage engineering, maintenance and project work on mechanical facilities equipment and systems, working under the guidance of the Facilities organization to improve system robustness, reliability and efficiency, and contribute to department and company goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and lead cleanroom facility mechanical system expansion projects to meet the utility needs of future manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to and solve system issues and production interruptions caused by mechanical systems.
• Identify and evaluate advanced technologies that reduce electricity, waste or water use in line with Micron's sustainability efforts.
• Track and plan capacity for mechanical systems and drive preventive maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and action plans to prevent recurrence of abnormalities.
• Implement predictive maintenance through the SMART Facilities initiative with the control team.
• Monitor spare parts and consumable inventory and handle procurement of services and parts via ARIBA / SAP.
• Plan and run preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, exhaust, scrubbers, cooling water, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, compressed air, fire protection and cleanroom air systems.
• Explore smart technologies and AI for project tracking, maintenance overviews and budget tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8-10 years of semiconductor facilities experience.
• Experience with semiconductor mechanical and process systems, including cleanroom HVAC, chilled water, heating water, makeup air, recirculation air, process cooling water, process exhaust, compressed air and process vacuum.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures and installation work for mechanical systems.
• Team player able to work with professionals at various levels, in fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with sustainability efforts (electricity, waste, water reduction) is a plus.
