Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer, SMAI

About the role

Micron is looking for a Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer to join its AI Revolution in Smart Manufacturing. You will architect, build and deploy AI applications that power smarter, faster and more autonomous operations across Micron's global semiconductor fabs and assembly/test facilities. The role sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build end-to-end AI solutions, including data pipelines, feature engineering, model training and inference, APIs, web applications and observability.
• Develop scalable full-stack AI applications with modern web technologies, cloud-native platforms and distributed computing frameworks, with strong type safety and test coverage.
• Build, implement and optimise machine learning, deep learning and statistical models for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics for manufacturing and operational decisions.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic AI into production workflows, and lead the integration of robotics platforms, AMRs, tool automation, control systems and the Micron MES ecosystem.
• Deploy production AI applications using Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift across global sites, and drive CI/CD, automated releases, monitoring, model evaluation and drift detection.
• Apply responsible AI practices (security, governance, validation, auditability, compliance), and mentor engineers, review code and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or a related field; equivalent industry experience accepted.
• 5+ years building and shipping production software, machine learning or AI applications.
• Experience with web applications, APIs, ML models or data-driven solutions, and with cloud platforms and large-scale data environments.
• Preferred: semiconductor manufacturing, industrial automation or smart manufacturing experience, and exposure to MLOps, MES, Industrial IoT or equipment automation.

Required skills

• Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• SQL and experience with structured and unstructured data.
• Machine learning, deep learning, statistical modelling and predictive analytics.
• Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud platforms and CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of GenAI, including prompt engineering, RAG, LLM integration, agentic AI, model evaluation and Responsible AI.
