Senior Government Relations Manager – APAC

About the role

The Senior Government Relations Manager will be based in Singapore and will support the execution of global government‑relations strategies for a leading cross‑border e‑commerce business. The role focuses on APAC markets, requiring strong policy insight, cross‑functional coordination and frequent travel across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse policy, regulatory, political and geopolitical developments in key APAC markets and assess business implications.
• Support the execution of global and regional government‑relations strategies, prioritising APAC initiatives.
• Coordinate cross‑functional GR projects with Legal, Compliance, Sustainability, Public Relations, Finance, Tax, Logistics and Business Operations.
• Conduct policy and regulatory research on e‑commerce, digital platforms, trade, consumer protection, data, AI, product compliance, customs, taxation, sustainability and platform governance.
• Prepare policy briefs, stakeholder maps, engagement materials, internal updates, talking points and executive briefing documents.
• Engage with government agencies, industry associations, chambers of commerce, think tanks and other external stakeholders.
• Manage GR project timelines, action plans, follow‑ups and deliverables across markets.
• Develop internal GR operating mechanisms for information sharing, issue escalation and stakeholder engagement.
• Travel frequently across APAC markets to support government engagement, business meetings and market research.

Required profile

• Degree in International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• Proven experience in government relations, public policy or regulatory affairs, preferably within e‑commerce or digital platforms.
• Strong analytical abilities and sensitivity to policy and regulatory environments.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly across APAC markets.
