Senior Industrial Engineer

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer at its manufacturing site in Seletar, Singapore. The role leads continuous improvement and cost-reduction activities, works closely with the CORE Office, and supports the General Manager in preparing annual targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify areas for improvement and ensure measurable implementation, helping reduce standard hours and automate processes to lower parts costs.
• Analyse existing systems and processes, separating value-added from non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
• Evaluate processes, equipment and materials as inputs to scheduling methods, performance metrics and financial standards.
• Develop the site-level continuous improvement strategy using CORE tools, and prepare the site for CORE Office assessments while acting as the main point of contact with the CORE Office.
• Represent the site at the Singapore CORE Council and lead continuous improvement programmes and CORE activities.
• Assist the General Manager in preparing activities for annual targets based on the Policy Deployment methodology, and present cost and continuous improvement strategies to senior management.
• Manage and deliver employee training for productivity projects, mentor engineers and technicians, and coordinate internal and external technical training in line with FAR 145.163 and other airworthiness requirements.
• Support EHS programmes, report incidents and hazards to the supervisor, and help build a strong continuous improvement culture.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• At least three years of experience managing cost-reduction programmes and continuous improvement activities such as EHS, Lean and Kaizen in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CORE tools and techniques and active participation in CORE activities.

Preferred skills

• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong presentation abilities, and ability to work under pressure.
