Senior Investment Banker – Loans Financing (Asia ex-Japan)

About the role

The Investment Banker will join Nomura’s Asia ex‑Japan (AeJ) Loans Financing team, focusing on Leveraged Finance and Private Credit products. Based in Singapore, the role is positioned at Senior Associate / Vice President level and involves end‑to‑end transaction management across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial screening, financial analysis and prepare pitch materials to support transaction recommendations.
• Lead financial and business due diligence, review documentation, and coordinate security arrangements and covenants.
• Prepare approval materials for risk functions, internal stakeholders and transaction committees.
• Manage transaction milestones from signing commitment letters to funding agreements and closing, working closely with Finance and Operations.
• Monitor borrower performance post‑closing and liaise with internal loan teams, investment banking bankers, global markets partners and corporate functions.
• Interact directly with clients and co‑lead syndicated transactions with other banks.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of investment banking experience, including extensive work with ALF and PFG products.
• Transaction experience across Singapore, Southeast Asia, India, Australia/New Zealand, Hong Kong/China and a variety of sectors such as telecom, infrastructure, healthcare, consumer, and financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting and alternative business models to assess creditworthiness.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport with clients and work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including financial modelling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using Bloomberg.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.
