Senior Lecturer - Capabilities & Industry Development, School of Hospitality

About the role

The School of Hospitality at Republic Polytechnic is seeking an experienced hospitality professional with expertise in hotel management, business development and technology and innovation. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and learning, drive hospitality transformation projects, develop strategic partnerships and lead initiatives that strengthen industry capabilities through technology.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and facilitate learning in hospitality modules such as hotel operations, guest experience management, hospitality technology and service innovation.
• Develop and review the curriculum so it stays aligned with industry needs and emerging technologies, and mentor students in projects, internships and industry-based learning.
• Lead industry projects and consultancy work on hotel operations, guest experience and hospitality transformation.
• Promote emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and business intelligence, smart hotel and IoT solutions, property management systems, CRM platforms and contactless guest experience tools.
• Manage innovation and capability-development projects, including planning, stakeholder engagement, resource coordination, risk management and delivery.
• Carry out applied research with industry partners to address business challenges and support workforce transformation.
• Build partnerships with hotels, hospitality organisations, technology providers and government agencies, and secure opportunities for consultancy, executive education and collaborative projects.
• Develop proposals, business cases and partnership agreements, and represent the School at industry forums, conferences and networking events.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, Tourism, Business, Information Systems, Digital Transformation or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• At least 8 years of industry experience in hotel management, hospitality consulting, hospitality technology, tourism or a related sector.
• Proven track record in business development, industry engagement and partnership management.
• Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong understanding of hotel operations and hospitality technologies.
• Experience in hospitality digital transformation, smart hospitality solutions, AI applications, service innovation or customer experience enhancement.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and relationship-building abilities.
