Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI Agent)

About the role

Patsnap, a global pre-IPO company that uses domain-specific AI to help IP and R&D teams collaborate across the innovation lifecycle, is hiring a Senior NLP Engineer in its Singapore office. The role owns the accuracy of the information-extraction pipeline: extracting material properties and quantitative measurements from long, complex documents such as patents and scientific literature. It is a hands-on senior position with end-to-end ownership, from scoping and prototyping to shipping algorithmic improvements and defining quality metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and understand large structured and unstructured data through NLP tasks such as data processing, NER, relationship extraction and NOR.
• Own and improve the information-extraction pipeline, from model to production.
• Solve document-level extraction at scale, handling long documents where entities, properties and relationships span sections.
• Drive algorithm optimization and develop and fine-tune models to meet business requirements.
• Build hybrid systems combining NER, rule-based methods and LLMs, applying each where it works best.
• Define evaluation methodology, annotation strategy and quality metrics with domain experts.
• Process and extract from large-scale corpora reliably and efficiently.

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on NLP/ML engineering in production, owning model or pipeline quality.
• Proven experience with long-document and document-level information extraction and normalization.
• Solid engineering fundamentals from working at scale.
