Senior Manager, Financial Crime Operations (GC & SEA)

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Senior Manager for its Financial Crime Operations team covering Global Commerce and Southeast Asia. You will lead the first-line financial crime operations team, driving standards in transaction monitoring and sanctions screening through risk assessment completion, rule tuning, segmentation and profiling, so customers have a seamless experience across the product suite while protecting the company from financial and reputational risk. The role is based onsite in the Singapore office.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the regulatory landscape and compliance requirements to improve investigations and rules
• Analyse and investigate patterns and trends
• Manage SLAs and deadlines to meet team and company goals
• Act as escalation point and manage stakeholders
• Conduct investigations on suspicious transactions
• Ensure adherence to local and global compliance policies and procedures
• Take a data-driven approach to problem solving
• Handle special projects and ad hoc requests, including deep dives on issues
• Lead and inspire a team of transaction monitoring analysts, including local and remote members

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• 5+ years of compliance experience in transaction monitoring, financial crime management, AML investigations or similar
• Process-oriented, with meticulous attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication
• Fintech experience strongly preferred; proven track record of meeting targets with data and analytics
• Prior leadership experience managing analyst teams is a plus

Required skills

• AICB, CAMS or CFE certification strongly preferred
• SQL proficiency preferred
