Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations, CEO Office

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Senior Manager, Global Expansion within its CEO Office Strategy & Operations team. You will own the end-to-end expansion of Airwallex into new markets across APAC, from market-entry strategy through licensing, product readiness and operational launch, preparing for commercial scale-up. The role is based in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategy for where and how Airwallex expands next across APAC, sizing opportunities and choosing markets.
• Design the market entry model: licensing path, entity structure and commercial model, turning regulatory and licensing requirements into an operating model on the ground.
• Shape the product roadmap with Product and Engineering so it is built around what is needed to launch and scale locally.
• Partner with CEO Office leadership and senior executives on market prioritization, launch readiness and investment decisions.
• Build the operating system for launches, using AI-assisted research, drafting and automation (e.g. licence mapping, competitor analysis, dashboards and reporting).
• Own the go/no-go and launch-readiness process, including cross-functional sign-off, risk assessment and mitigation plans.
• Take on priority CEO Office initiatives such as strategic reviews, restructuring or migration projects, crisis response and cross-market structuring.

Required profile

• 5-8 years of experience in top-tier strategy consulting (MBB or equivalent), regulatory/financial services law, or strategy/expansion roles in fintech or payments, with exposure to market-entry or licensing-driven projects.
• Proven track record of owning complex, multi-stakeholder programs end to end, including planning, execution and executive-level updates.
• Experience with regulatory and licensing topics in financial services (payments, e-money, banking, card issuing) and comfort working with legal, risk and compliance counterparts.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools in day-to-day work, with good judgment on verification.
• Preferred: direct experience driving new market launches or licence applications in APAC, a background combining consulting and an in-house operating role, or familiarity with cross-functional global expansion and product launch processes.
