Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations, Regulatory & Compliance

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Manager for its Regulatory & Compliance team. Based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Strategy & Operations (Regulatory & Compliance), the role shapes and executes Airwallex's strategic priorities globally, from market expansion and operating model redesigns to AI and automation initiatives across compliance workflows. It suits an ex-strategy consultant who can bridge high-level regulatory strategy with operational execution.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive end-to-end execution of group-wide strategic projects, including new market expansion strategies, global regulatory licensing roadmaps and operating model redesigns.
• Partner with Product, Data Science and Engineering to identify, architect and deploy AI-driven tools, automation workflows and scalable tech infrastructure for regulatory and compliance operations.
• Diagnose operational bottlenecks and design scalable 1LOD/2LOD interaction models, governance structures and global compliance frameworks.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, preparing board-level presentations, business cases and quantitative decision frameworks for the Chief Regulatory & Compliance Officer and the Global Executive Team.
• Mobilize matrixed project teams across Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, Finance and Operations to deliver strategic mandates on time and within budget.
• Define, track and optimize key strategic metrics, operational efficiency benchmarks and ROI on compliance transformation investments.

Required profile

• 6-8+ years of total professional experience, with a minimum of 4+ years at a top-tier strategy consulting firm.
• Demonstrated experience delivering strategic projects in financial services, global payments, fintech or technology platforms.
• Ability to turn ambiguous strategic questions into hypotheses, analytical frameworks and operational roadmaps.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a track record of turning complex data into executive insights.
• Superior communication, storytelling and executive presence, with experience influencing C-suite stakeholders and global matrixed teams.
• Preferred: advanced degree (e.g. MBA or Master's in Finance, Economics or Business); deep familiarity with global payments infrastructure, cross-border flows, digital wallets or multi-jurisdictional licensing; hands-on experience leading digital transformation, process automation or AI implementation in financial operations or compliance.
