Senior Nurse Clinician – Operating Theatre

About the role

The Senior Nurse Clinician will lead the operating theatre team, ensuring the highest standards of clinical, operational and financial performance. This role combines hands‑on scrubbing of complex procedures with strategic leadership of nursing and ancillary staff.

Key responsibilities

• Scrub complex invasive procedures and support anaesthesia and endoscopy interventions.
• Supervise nurses and ancillary staff to deliver safe, high‑quality peri‑operative care.
• Provide specialised nursing guidance, mentorship and consultation.
• Plan staff mix and skill levels to optimise patient outcomes.
• Ensure care aligns with clinical guidelines, physician orders and hospital policies.
• Develop and monitor quality improvement processes and performance metrics.
• Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions and ensure compliance with licensing, QMS and ISO standards.
• Support staff development through orientation, performance management and training.
• Coordinate emergency responses and report clinical incidents.
• Assist in resource and budget planning for efficient use of manpower, supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
• State‑registered nurse with a practising licence from the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Post‑basic certificate/diploma or equivalent experience in a specialised clinical area.
• Minimum 7 years post‑registration experience, including supervisory roles.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification preferred.
