Senior Nurse Manager – Labour & Delivery

About the role

The Senior Nurse Manager – Labour & Delivery will lead the Labour & Delivery department at IHH Healthcare Singapore, driving clinical excellence, staff development and safe patient care in a fast‑paced obstetric environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set unit goals and objectives in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Oversee induction, competency assessment and career‑progression planning for nursing staff.
• Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and implement improvements.
• Facilitate reviews of occurrence reports and ensure preventive actions are applied.
• Monitor budget and consumable usage to ensure cost‑effective operations.
• Plan staffing schedules to match skill mix with patient acuity and census.
• Ensure occupational health, safety and clinical risk management for all staff.
• Serve as the primary liaison with doctors, patients, families and key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Nursing; post‑basic qualification in Midwifery preferred.
• Full registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Proven leadership and management experience in a Labour & Delivery or obstetric setting.
• Ability to match nurse competence to patient needs and drive staff development.
• Strong understanding of clinical risk management and occupational health & safety.
