Senior Principal Engineer - Electricity Transmission Network

About the role

This role leads the medium- to long-term planning and development of Singapore's electricity transmission network, supporting industry growth while safeguarding grid reliability and system resilience. It works closely with agencies and stakeholders to ensure technical robustness and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage medium- to long-term electricity network development plans to support key industries such as semiconductors and data centres, working with government agencies on their development plans and reviewing the Transmission Network Ten Year Development Plans to ensure infrastructure adequacy without compromising reliability.
• Manage grid interconnections of electricity imports, reviewing Transmission Network Development Plans needed to connect imports and importers' interconnection proposals against the Transmission Code.
• Oversee the implementation of asset renewal policies and enhance them to manage grid cost and network risk exposure, and review and assess network asset renewal plans.

Required profile

• Knowledge of electrical engineering, preferably with a specialisation in power engineering.
• Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills.
• Able to explain technical concepts clearly and simply to internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electricity network planning and asset management (preferred).
• Knowledge of smart grid technologies and their integration with the network (an advantage).
